Fishing Northern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica The major ports for sports fishing on Costa Rica's northern Pacific Coast are Tamarindo and Flamingo. From December to April, many charters from Flamingo move south to Guanamar or Carrillo to avoid the high winds of the season.
Fishing Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica One of the largest fishing ports in Costa Rica is Los Suenos Marina, located just north of the popular resort town of Jaco. Quepos is another popular port for charters on the central Pacific Coast in Costa Rica. The Central Coast is world renown for its sailfishing from December to April. Both ports are within 20 miles of blue water fishing for billfish. Closer to shore there are opportunities for catching other types of fish. Many charters out of these ports offer multiple-day trips fishing in both the central and southern coastal areas
